About

Wade Dawe performed live for the first time in January of 2003.  Presently he has been performing around eastern Newfoundland and venues in St. John’s.  His pleasant voice and guitar have been well received by audiences, resulting in much positive feedback and comments.  Having studied piano as a child, Wade learned to read music, and won first place at a music festival in the 6 years and under age group.  Growing up, Wade was first into the popular music of the mid-80’s, but at the same time heard equal amounts of classic country.  His parents never missed the local Saturday afternoon radio show “800 Country” (broadcast from radio station VOWR in St. John’s).  When he first started playing guitar in 1997, it was mostly the classic country, but over the years he has moved into rock, and folk styles, such as Cash, Prine, Dylan, Waits, Willie Nelson, and popular music from the 40’s through to the 80’s.  In June of 2011, Wade released his first professional album entitled “Damned Old Rodeo”, and the reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with his original composition “Cupids” getting regular airplay.  On September 2, 2011, Wade was featured in St. John’s local paper “The Telegram” in their music series “Fresh Tracks”. On January 16th, and again on December 10th 2012, he performed on the Rogers TV show, Out of the Fog (see “Videos”).  During the summer of 2012, Wade acted and sang in two plays with the Torbay Theatre Festival.  He played “Nixie” in Ben Pittman’s production of the musical, “Solomon Gosse’s Birthday”, and “Rich Codner” in Ben Pittman’s production of “1762: The Taking of Torbay”.  In June of 2015, Wade released his second album, “Give You My Hand”.  A number of tracks from this album get regular radio play on Kixx Country 103.9FM, Radio Newfoundland 930AM, and VOWR 800AM, including the title track, “Give You My Hand”, and “Stove Song”.  In September of 2015, Wade appeared on Bell’s FibeTV1 show “Club One New Releases”.  On March 29, 2018, Wade again performed on the Rogers TV show, Out of the Fog (Click here to view episode)  At the moment Wade plays regularly at venues in St. John’s such as The Black Sheep Pub, and the Ship Pub.
